rev:text	So this is the third restaurant in the Xenia Hospitality Group. The BIG VIEW DINER is always reliable. ILIOS NOCHE is always consistent and a favorite for small plates. It was time for concept number three, MAVERICK ROCK TACO. It is located in an old favorite breakfast/lunch spot that I used to eat at for decades. They did a really great job on the remodel. Three of us went for lunch and we were seated very quickly. There seemed to be only one wait staff person working. The manager took our drink order and said our waiter would be there shortly. Before leaving the table we ordered Queso Dip. The Dip arrived and our waiter noticed we did not have our Chips and Salsa. He brought that back. The chips were not crisp or warm and tasted like they came from a bag. We had to send the Queso back, barely room temp. We placed our order and the Queso returned, hot. One order was a BEEF TACO, nothing special, looked like Taco Bell. I had two tacos, one with SHRIMP and one with GRILLED MAHI. The Shrimp were over cooked and chewy. The MAHI was overcooked and dry. My BLACK BEANS were hot and fairly tasty. My wife ordered the CHICKEN BURRITO. Unfortunately it was warm and bland: no seasoning, not even any salt. Also disappointing was the fact that the Tortillas were Food Service purchased. If you specialize in TACOS, take the time to make your own Tortillas, it's not that hard. My wife called over the Manager and explained about her BURRITO and he said he would talk with the Chef. Being somewhat of a FOODIE and being in some sort of Food related industry most of my life, I couldn't hold back. I explained the rest of the issues and said I didn't want anything, we just thought he needed to know. The waiter brought our check and said the Manager took the food off, only charging for the drinks. The Manager came over and I thanked him. He then gave me a card for a complimentary app and also a $10.00 gift card for one of the other concepts. We'll probably give them one more try but it will be a while. The owners are Culinary Grads and have worked in the U.S. and abroad but it doesn't show at MAVERICK ROCK TACO....
