  • I wanted to let some time pass before I wrote this review - 1) to see if we have any immediate problems with our new AC, and 2) to see how post-install service would be. We purchased our new AC unit from Laird & Sons and had it installed by them as well. From our first contact with them to set up a sales appointment, to now, 3 weeks post installation, Laird & Son has been incredible. We had our sales appointment with Ron. He was on time, personable, and knew his products, just as you would expect from a good sales person. The appointment was very relaxed and we didn't feel pressured to purchase. He explained all of our options to us, gave his recommendation when we asked, and told us to take some time to think about it and give him a call when we were ready. He also took a look at our furnance and told us that we didn't need to replace it at all! Great news for us as the Direct Energy rep had insisted we replace it right away. We called Ron about 3 days later and asked to book an installation date. It's obvious that this company is organized and has great communication among themselves, as Kim from head office contacted us right away and set up a time. 2 weeks later Dave and his partner came to install our unit. They were so respectful of our home and courteous and did a magnificent job installing the unit and spent all day troubleshooting our electrical situation. They identified the problem and coordinated with head office to send out a technician to finish the electrical work the next day. Again, I was informed when the tech would arrive, and Bryan rang my doorbell the next day, on time. Bryan was very personable, and also very considerate of my home. He cleaned everything up right away and put things back the way they were. He did a fantastic job getting our electrical connected to the thermostat so our AC could begin cooling our house. The next day, I called head office and spoke to Kim. Gave her our payment details and within a few days, our invoice along with the details of our extended warranty arrived. Earlier this week I tried to register our AC unit for the warranty but was having a bit of trouble, so I contacted Laird and Son again. Jackie explained that they register for the extended warranty for all their customers since some do not have access to computers or may not know how to do such things online. How brilliant and what a time saver for me! Bottom line, Laird & Son are true professionals - earnest, trustworthy, efficient, and organized, with great customer service. I plan to use them for our yearly maintenance and duct cleaning and would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends! P.S. They also contacted me with a promo for HVAC duct cleaning. I explained that I had it done last year and inquired if I needed it done on a yearly basis - they were honest and said I wouldn't need it for another couple of years. It's nice to know that not every business out there is trying to take advantage of people
