I made a great deal with Franco Valdes online and met in late January 2014 to pick up my car. I was told they would charge my credit card for $1,000 since I was coming from a couple hours away to get the car a few days later. No financing was needed since I paid cash. I had the deal all worked out and showed up with my money order and was ready to get the car. The car was great and what I expected.
The only change I made was buying the extended warranty. This is what caused all the problems. The warranty was suppose to be $1501, yet my credit card got charged $1708.82. I called on Monday morning to cancel the warranty. They sent me over the cancellation and I sent it back immediately. Two months went by and no refund or callback. I finally had to dispute it with my credit card company. They went back and forth with East Charlotte Nissan and I received a check for $1501 4 1/2 months later as a refund from the extended warranty. They said they won't refund the other money since it was taxes.
I canceled less than one business day later, and they still did not make it good. So needless to say I am out the $207.82 that they claim was taxes on the warranty. They had very poor customer service when there is a problem. I waited over 4 1/2 months to even get the refund for the extended warranty. My car is great and I love it, but the other stuff I had to deal with showed that they may have good cars but poor service.
Be very careful and don't let them tell you that you can cancel the extended service warranty if you change your mind. It will take over 4 months and lots of paperwork and trying to get them to call you back.
