| - Keramin lists themselves as one of the leading tile stores in Toronto, and the quality and selection of European wall and floor tiles including mosaic tiles appears excellent, with lots of discounts offered. Free delivery across the GTA with no minimum purchase.
Their web site advertises: HUGE VARIETY OF COLORS, SIZES AND SHAPES ALWAYS AVAILABLE IN STOCK! This really meant something to me, because last week I was in the big Olympia Tile warehouse and their entire main tiles showroom selection was beige, brown, white and black, no colours to speak of, let alone pastels, which is what I specifically wanted for my bathtub/shower stall.
The two salesmen both took turns helping us, although they were busy with other customers and they told us exactly where to look for the type of use we wanted the tiles for. When I told Aaron Shamilov, the saleclerk who first helped me, that we needed new floor tiles and bathroom wall tiles because our basement had flooded in the #TOflood of July 8th, he recommended I consider porcelain tiles for the floors, as his customers had told him that they alone had survived the flood undamaged. Some more web site info: Porcelain tiles are maintenance free and are typically stronger than ceramic and natural stones tiles. They offer a wide range of frost proof & slip resistant Porcelain tiles, the ideal solution for exterior floor & wall tiling.
Aaron anxiously helped us when he could see the tile displays were heavy for my daughter and I to lift, and he said, let them fall, I'll straighten them up, every time. In contrast, at Olympia Tile, no one at all was on the floor to help customers, you had to go to the central desk to line up for one of two female staff, neither of whom seemed to have any technical knowledge about tile products, to assist you.
I ended up choosing a peach marbled porcelain tile called Florence (Bordeau). For the bathroom bathtub/shower and baseboard tiles, for the wall, we chose the ceramic tiles Rainbow Turquesa in a turquoise colour, for the baseboard, a matching light turquoise Alexandria border tile, and for a bright light-reflecting backsplash on the wall, the metal and glass mosaic tile Diamond Cove.
I think the staff at Keramin Tiles could not be more helpful and patient, nor do they leave the customers to fend for themselves. Also, they have a beautiful and colourful selection of wall and floor tiles or several types.
