You get what you pay for, right? Ballys is in a great location on the strip and the price was reasonable. Plus it's connected to Paris so between the two hotels there are a lot of restaurants. The other two things I like about Ballys were SEA (amazing Thai restaurant) and the show (Jubilee) which we had 2 for 1 tickets for.
Here are my complaints- the toilet in our room ran nonstop, we actually rigged it so it would stop. There is no mini bar (wtf) and when we checked into the hotel we waited in line for a long time. At 4 or 5 p.m. on a Staurday please staff checkin accordingly. I have to admit that in 110 degrees after a 1 hour flight delay and a long shuttle line to get to the hotel (Ballys doesn't have an airport shuttle) I was NOT happy about another line.
