  • I spent 15 bucks on a large latte, a banana tart and a cookie. The latte: LG Hazelnut Latte. How can you be a coffee shop and mess this up?! This was hardly warm. It had a strange flavor that I can't quite put my finger on. Almost like nutty cardboard. Definitely over priced for the size. Uncovered and handed to me. I was told by the barista "lids are over there, careful it's hot". Now hear me out, I try to stay away from Starbucks, and support smaller chains or local spots, but this place could learn a thing or two from Starbucks (sad to say). Lid the to-go drink! Put a sleeve on the cup! Make sure the hot drink is hot! These are basics! I'm okay with paying a higher price **if** the drink is good, but my God, I couldn't choke down half of this thing, and I tried; because I HATE wasting money. I even overheard the barista saying "I cant find the espresso!" Leads me to wonder... is it fresh pulled? Or a concentrate? The tart: Banana Chocolate Tart: Recommended by the barista after I asked for his favorite item. The presentation was beautiful. After tasting it though.... I could tell the bananas were fresh(ish) but the tart shell tasted like it was stale and flavorless. Not at all like a fresh, crisp, buttery pie shell. It tasted as if it had been sitting in the case for a couple days. The Cookie: Play on Ferrero Rocher: I grew up with these chocolates. LOVE them. I saw this cookie as I was checking out, and on impulse, purchased it. I was intending to eat it later in the day, but because the latte was so terrible, and the tart was tossed out after a few bites, I went for the cookie. Though the cookie also tasted stale, the Icing (Nutella I am guessing) and chopped hazelnut topping was decent. I ate about 1/3 of it and then......... WHAT THE HELL?!......... I then found a piece of paper or cardboard in the icing!! This is ridiculously unacceptable! I took a picture of it and will upload to restaurant photos. I was a restaurant manager for Wildflower Bread Company for years (EXCELLENT place by the way), and was MORTIFIED! I am 8 months pregnant, so a coffee and sweet treat is really something I indulge in rarely these days. I am so BUMMED that not only am I out the 15 bucks, but my treat has been spoiled by this horrendous experience. I feel robbed! I also feel that the people who prepare the food, do not care at all about cleanliness, this is deeply concerning. If there is paper products in the food, are there any other cross contamination issues here? They serve salmon and cold cuts for lunch I understand. Buyer BEWARE. How dissapointing and embarasssing. I wanted to like this place.
