  • My husband and I are building garden beds and looking for compost to fill them. Pioneer was recommended. We called and asked them about their compost as well as other landscaping materials such as rip rap and gravel. The rock was more expensive than other businesses in the area. But the WORST was the quality of the so called "quality compost" We understood that it was half compost and half soil, which sounded fine, but the actual product was ridiculously inferior. It had huge sticks in it, was dry and dusty and absolutely not quality or even usable for garden beds. The truck brought it to our house, and we sent it back. They still charged us a delivery fee even though the product was not what they told us!!! I'm posting a picture so you can see for yourself. Update: I changed the stars from 1 to 3 because Pioneer contacted us and removed the delivery fee.
