Parents central A/C went out. Called this company to come out and investigate outage. Technician stated it was a defective blower, basically $800 to replace. We held off, asked a friend who works on A/C units, turns out it was a burnt out component worth $20 to replace. He replaced it, and A/C has been working perfectly fine since.
**UPDATE**
Turns out the Polar Air technician was correct. Blower lasted two months more and died. The offer given by Polar Air to replace blower was excellent, after blower died the second time, second quote by another service company was nearly double the original quote, but parents were over it and wanted a brand new a/c unit. New unit installed by Sears, reasonable price, great job!
