  • I had a fun visit to Cheesecake & Crime, Inc. Although I didn't stay, I can tell I would enjoy spending some time at one of the two tables, perhaps catching up on my studies through their free wifi while enjoying some delicious homemade cheese cake. There is a seating area of smallish leather chairs as well. The decor is whimsical- a kind of film noir mixed with some je ne sais quoi! Heh- that's about as far as I go with design styles, but I did like what I saw, from the animal print rugs to the cute, clean and stylish choice of furniture and wall art. The male half of the married duo is the cheesecake maker and the plain cheesecake I tried was clearly a labor of love. Although not perfect (my piece had a few lumps) I cannot complain about the silken density of this New York style cake. I haven't had cheesecake this wonderful since leaving the East coat! I will come here for my cheesecake fix rather than visiting the Cheesecake Factory, despite the fact that I could swear that you pay more for less cake here. But that's all right- it's worth it. And by the way, the the female half of this team clearly knows her mystery novels. She engaged me in a nice conversation about a few of my favorite authors. I'll be buying a book or two from them as well. This is the kind of business I'd support just on principle. It's original, and the owners are present, passionate and friendly.
