  • Not helpful. Was at my home physically for less than five minutes before he hopped into his van. Happy Bear was dispatched from my home warranty company, American Home Shield. Zaid refused to diagnose the issue with my AC because he said it was missing parts and that I had a mismatched compressor which he assessed all without turning a wrench or taking a single measurement like air temp. He said there was no dryer on the system but I can clearly see it and freaked out over a few missing bolts. He also claimed that my suction and discharge lines were crimped. Thing is, they are not, and my system was working just fine up until a few days ago. Zaid accused the previous technician of being unlicensed which was not the case, I showed him the ROC number and receipt for the previous repairs. Zaid flatly refused to work on my AC or give me a proper diagnosis saying he would not touch the system without giving me a proper explanation. He was obviously using the missing parts thing as an excuse because he wanted to avoid any sort of liability. No explanation whatsoever, just called American Home Shield where the authorization department denied the claim without giving me any chance to weigh in. Left me high and dry with a newborn at home and no AC but he didn't seem to care. He was happy to take the service fee and run off, charged $125 by American Home Shield and I didn't even get a diagnosis, less than five minutes actual work put in by him. Then he told me that American Shield would be sending out a different tech to look at my system. However, this was also false. American Home Shield called me giving me the option for a "second opinion" at my expense even though I hadn't even received the first opinion that I paid for. I would take a guess that most of these five star reviews have been made up based on my experience with Zaid. After he left, another technician came and immediately fixed the problem - one of the wires had come loose from the compressor terminal. Simple fix and it didn't cost me nearly as much as trying to go through my home warranty company. Zaid, you could have been a super star, and so easily fixed my problem, and eased the concerns of a new parent, but instead you used a weak cop out. Grow a sack and take a small risk once in a while to help out your fellow human. I do take some solace knowing that in the not too distant future a robot will be better and more honestly able to do the job of the HVAC technician.
