Welcome to the Beauty Bar, a hipster dive bar along East Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas.
The interior looked like a glam, old school beauty salon. Glittery salon station with mirrors made up the bar. Patrons could sit under colorful 1950s-era hair dryers. The place reminded me of the movie Grease. While I liked the decor, the bar honestly had this dark and dirty feel. Meh.
Although I've heard this place frequently has live band shows, I came upon a special event when it was having a live graffiti art show. It was so cool to watch artists paint under the spotlight, their intensity and concentration amidst blaring classic hip-hop music.
Cover? I think I was lucky it was winter season with lesser crowds. There was no cover on a Saturday night and I got free entertainment!
3 stars for this eclectic dive.
