  • NOLA is wonderfully located in Market Square. And it has decent food and great bartender service. Valet parking is great. But keep the receipt as we were ticketed by Pittsburgh for not parking .... even though we paid the valet service.... NOLA refused to allow for reservations in the "bar area" for watching/viewing bands. We used to go about 2 hours early to wedge our way forward toward the performers. But the management's view is not conducive to getting decent seating. We have been there before and told to "wait" at the bar, then others come in and get band row seating.... (secret handshake?). We used to call the manager over and ask for decent seating.... "maybe." My party of 8 decided, after this call to reservations today before 1 pm, to go elsewhere as we told there could be no assigned/reserved seating toward the band(s). But others come in and are seated.... Sigh. There are so much better Pittsburgh venues for appreciating music, and having seating/reservation service. Amusingly, BJ's in Wexford doesn't take reservations per se but puts one on a priority list for seating depending on traffic. And they discuss the options and timing of arrival. Stunningly different customer experience. Fred.
