  • I would like to give Robert Lemon the sales manager I dealt with 5 Stars for service and consideration. I hope he relocates and goes somewhere where peoples time and circumstance are better respected. The dealership itself and my experience otherwise is more or a 1 or no stars. There was another gentleman who goes by Dublin who was considerate and helped us out while waiting for Robert, but the dealership was hard pushing that we not wait for Robert who I had been dealing with by phone and email and had scheduled an appointment with and was waiting for! When I first started looking for vehicles Robert stood out from the others because he was calm and accommodating. He was not hurry up and get here today today today. It was all about what was convenient for me, what I needed, was looking for etc etc. I was VERY clear going in as to what specifically I was looking for-the range I needed to be in, my poor credit etc. I was assured that there would be no problem. My income and financials were run, we scheduled an appointment and I came in ready to buy a car with Robert and Robert only. I was going to buy a car there. Especially after all my hard sell dealings with other dealerships. Fast forward to this: the prices that are listed on the internet-add atleast $5000 to those-truly. There are SO many RIDICULOUS dealer upgrades added for example $750 cup holders $2500 tint and the prices listed assume an amazing almost unattainable credit score as well as every single qualifying discount available; student, military, Kia, etc etc. So that car that shows on the internet for $12K is really closer to 18K when all is said and done and that is BEFORE financing. When it was time to negotiate with the financing manager things took an ugly turn. At one point I was asked to sign a paper saying "I will buy this vehicle today for this price and this monthly payment". Great right? We were all excited and ready to go! Nope, the manager comes back with not only a $100+ higher monthly payment but also an interest rate of 35% higher than any other dealership had quoted me. Adding insult to injury was an insulting low ball "trade in value" on my vehicle of more than 50% less than book value (told initially they go off of 3-4 different trade values), then told they were going off "auction value" even then it was lower than that would have been and ultimately 50%+ less than other dealerships had offered me. When I explained to them that they just went from Heroes to Zeroes they had 2 "managers" come in and try to do damage control. Mind you we had been there 4+ hours. I would have loved to buy a vehicle from Robert and don't blame him for our experience. However, I would run from buying anything there. There was no talk about negotiating-I was pretty much told I would be lucky to get a car and was treated condescendingly and felt like I was almost annoying the financial adviser by explaining how their "deal" was ridiculous in comparison to others. Then he preceded to say "he could try" for a different rate but he doubted he could. Not would, not will....could. Implying to me that my business was not worth his time and since that was the case we went elsewhere. Elsewhere where I got a comparable vehicle for the payment I asked for. The trade I asked for and a 30%+ less interest rate. Amazing how that happened and I was in and out of that dealership in less than an hour. See my other review :)
