I really wanted to go to high tea while in Montreal. We have had high tea in a lot of cities (Victoria, Banff, Boston, etc). I spent a lot of time looking at reviews and reading blogs. We went into the Fairmont and were going to make reservations for the following day, but when I saw that it was afternoon and their dining room in which they serve tea was essentially empty, I decided to find a different place (even though the Fairmont's high tea in Victoria and Banff were wonderful). We ended up going to Le Parloir, and I am so glad we did. We called and made reservations for that afternoon. They were wonderful in accommodating us (we are both vegetarian). Ambiance was perfect, decor was lovely. There were other people also having high tea so we weren't by ourselves (high tea doesn't feel right without the correct atmosphere). The food was amazing, and desserts were fabulous. Service was good and the staff really knows tea. They give you each person a little hourglass sand timer and instruct you on the proper steeping of your tea. It ended up being one of the best places I have ever had high tea. I would recommend this for anyone wanting exceptional high tea in Montreal.
