| - We stayed in a Red Room. We paid for it, didn't have to bribe the front desk clerk. I find the practice of bribing the front desk clerk distasteful. The fact that they expect to be paid under the table to give you a good room basically ruins it for those of us that are honest.
My HUGE gripe with Paris was this. We got to the hotel around noon and checked in. No room is yet available. Oh, no wait, there is one for an early check-in fee. We're very tired from packing and flying, so yeah, we'll take it.
We drag our bags up to our room, walk inside, then my wife sounding panicked says, "There's somebody in here!" I was panicked too. I saw luggage on the bed, it was opened. I hurriedly opened the door and told her to get out. I told housekeeping and they said, go back to the front desk. So we lugged our luggage back to the front desk, got in line AGAIN and told them what happened.
I told them that they basically put us in danger. We could have interrupted a drug deal, or someone having an affair, or someone with lots of cash and guns. They couldn't have been less concerned. They didn't even give us 5% off a piece of bubble gum, no upgrade, no show tickets. Nothing. What they did do was tell us we'd have to wait for our room after all. No early check-in.
I've been staying in Hotels for nearly 30 years and this has NEVER happened. When it happens at Paris, they aren't even apologetic. In fact we felt that we were being looked at with suspicion.
Maybe it's a rare mistake, it might even have been forgivable. But to be unapologetic and make no attempt to make amends looks to me like the opposite of hospitality.
We did get to visit several other hotel/casinos in the area and there are definitely nicer places to stay. No need to patronize Paris or Caesar's or Planet Hollywood.... or any of the Caesar's companies in the future.
My wife was asleep when I wrote this review. We were packing up to check out and I asked her why she slept on top of the covers for the duration of our four night stay. She said when we checked in she pulled back the covers and there was some crispy/crusty stuff on the sheets. OMG, that's disgusting. We normally pay a premium to stay in hotels that we know provide clean linens. I'd have expected better from this hotel and for this price. I'm completely grossed out.
At first I felt a little bad about one star, but now I'm certain they deserve it. Again, enjoy our money. It wont be the last we spend on vacations and entertainment by far, but if I can help it, it will be the last we give to them.
