All that glitters isn't gold! The high vaulted ceilings in the upstairs units look nice but they will cause your power bill to go sky high in this summer heat. Here it is 2:30am and the AC is struggling to make the place cooler than 82 degrees! I set the thermostat at 78-80 degrees when I leave for work and when I get home in the afternoon, it's 85 degrees and the AC has been going nonstop! I have a small child who has to walk around in a diaper just to stay cool.
I called the front office to ask for help regarding this and was told "Yeah, the vaulted ceilings look pretty but aren't that great when it comes to keeping cool" and that I needed to buy thermal curtains. Oh, but maintenance can put them up for me... Not only do I pay for an overpriced, NOT upgraded unit, but my child and I can't even live in it comfortably in this heat, my power bill is going through the roof and the only way to resolve it is to spend MORE money to cover windows that are at the very top of vaulted ceilings.
Oh, and you can hear every time your neighbor slams a door, takes a shower, or slides a closet door on the messed up track in their apartment because of the thin walls.
The front office people are pleasant enough but moving in on a deal was not worth the headache of going through this. If I could afford to move right now, I wouldn't hesitate to get out of here quick!
