  • Dr. Lingwall is good, I like him a lot. I will not return to Desert Inn Animal Hospital, though. I had a cat who was being diagnosed for the cause of her anemia. Desert Inn provided inadequate care. I could not get anyone to call me back, so as my baby was suffering, I was calling them again and again, desperate for answers, desperate to know if she would ever get better or if I was prolonging her suffering for no reason. I had to get two blood transfusions for her--stress and pain on her -- during this time, when nobody was calling me back. Every test result took days longer than they said. The receptionists began to get annoyed with me, (saying rude things like "Didn't you call yesterday?") but I had big decisions to make, and eventually, using the time of other vets in the Vegas area, after much pain and tears, I had to put her down. Desert Inn finally called me back one hour after my cat passed away, three days after I left my fourth message. My partner had left three messages on my behalf. They never called her back. This cat meant everything to me. I understand that the vets at Desert Inn have other clients, but if they can't return the calls of pet parents in pain, if they can't give the attention to a young, dying cat that it deserves, then they have too many clients. Worse, they are not fulfilling their oaths to prevent the pain and suffering of animals in their care. Also, I had taken my cat into them three weeks before she needed intensive care, and they didn't so much as check her gums during her physical, (which would have indicated then that she was anemic), and this is one of the most basic, easy, and life-saving aspects of the exam. Of course, I didn't know that at the time. I wish I had.
