| - We have had dinner at Eno Vino on Junction Road many times in the past. It's our go-to place when folks come in from out of town, birthdays, and sometimes--just because. It's not the cheapest place, but if the food is good and one is treated well, it's worth it. And we've had many evenings there with servers who took great care of us. So imagine our surprise when we went recently for my birthday, and the service was just meh. I am a person who likes birthdays--mine and others. I had noted on the reservation that we were there for a birthday. I also told our server. She didn't remark on it more than "oh." I wasn't expecting a free anything, but a happy birthday or even a candle in our dessert would've been nice. Nothing, nada, zip. Our server was polite, but not warm. She was helpful in suggesting dishes but didn't check on us once they came, and it was not a busy night. In fact, I had to ask for a new fork at one point, while she was standing up next to the bar talking to the Asst. Manager. In addition, we ordered the pear tart for dessert, and she bought spoons to eat it with--the tart had a crust that one could not cut through easily with a spoon. We couldn't get her attention, so we just took forks from the table next to us that was set. So maybe this was an off night--that's what I'm hoping--but we may give them a little break for a while.
