  • Who said only restaurants can provide a menu - dry cleaners/tailors/seamstresses should have a list outlining their services offered and the prices (or at least a price range for each service). I had a jumpsuit with no lining to be shortened. I was in a rush and needed it to be done in 40 mins. I usually go to another dry cleaner for all my alteration needs, but since this was the closest to my place, I decided to walk in and at least see what they can do. One of my neighbors in my building had warned me about this place and told me not to go there at any cost (In his words, "I don't know how, but they always manage to ruin any clothes I bring in!"). With this alarm flashing bright red in the back of my mind, I walked in and was greeted by a friendly middle aged man. I explained what needed to be done, and asked how much they charge and whether they can get it done in 40 mins. he said it will be 'around' $10 bucks and 40 mins is 'no problem'. Since he was with needles and thread, I thought he was the tailor.. BUT! I should have read their business title (ANNA dry cleaners...) more carefully! Alas, Anna pops up behind the counter, and examines my jumpsuit! Then the guy who turned out to be her husband said she was the one who would do the job. And they were both taking their sweet time while I was anxious that time was running out. I wanted to be able to go to my regular in case they either ask to much for the service or take too long! 20mins in the store, Anna said she needed more time. I said I was in a real rush here, and I would just take it to another one. As I grabbed my jumpsuit, the husband stopped me and said "why are you so anxious". Then the two of them started talking in a language I don't understand. Another 10 mins went by and I was borderline angry at this point for just keeping me there. The husband finally said, "We will get it done, so don't worry.", while I can see Anna frowning. 40mins later, I returned to pick up my jumpsuit. The job itself wasn't bad at all . The way the ends were hemmed wasn't exactly the same as the original but I couldn't complain. When I was finally about to smile, the bomb dropped on me. As I gave Anna my credit card, I saw $30 flashing in front of my eyes. We agreed to 'AROUND' $10 bucks! I tried to argue (anyone could see the fumes coming out of my ears) but I knew that the job was already done, and I was in a rush. I paid but left vowing that I would do whatever it takes to let the world know about their HORRENDOUS attitude! Flip Flopping on the price previously agreed? This business is NOT to be trusted. Did someone say, "Should have listened to your Neighbor!"?
