  • Lowes and Home Depot are both home improvement centers but which one is really better? For Canada, Home Depot came first and Lowes is new to the fray but in my opinion one doesn't really impress me over the other. They have their own in house brands for things like Home Depot will have theirs and Lowes has what they have but at the end of the day each sells brand name products of manufacturers across the board. While Lowes likes to say they have those buttons to get an associate to help you right away I still say it's not as easy to get help as they make it out to be. Given we were in the store for a visit on a Saturday, the place didn't seem as packed as it probably should have been. Going to the garden center to get garden related / outdoor things seemed like a great time since the place wasn't that busy at all surprisingly. I'm sure it's busier now that the weather is nicer but it was rather cool the weekend we went. The layout of aisles and the ability to find what you're looking for is easy. The check out lines seem quick and we didn't have to wait very long. There seems to be a decent amount of parking and there's an easy egress behind the store along North Queen instead of having to necessarily go back to the Queensway. The pricing of THD is relative but it seems the selection for Lowes is probably better that or they carry products or higher model lines of certain things like appliances or other furnishings. Still, I can't say I really favor one over the other.
