  • Yelp--You filtered my review--After over a year. How dare you?? Republish: I started looking at Las Vegas homes and picked "Wild Bill" by chance from Internet listings of licensed inspectors. While there may be other well qualified inspectors in the area, Bill is the one you want. He can spot non-code amateur additions, fire code violations and building defect cover ups a mile away. My wife was literally in love with a newly remodeled and beautifully decorated home owned by an interior decorator which was located in the Canyon Gate Country Club. We had put in an offer over the asking price and were ready to buy. Then came Bill's inspection...... Bill had me climb up in the attic and pointed out 10 broken trusses, a leaking air handler system, 6 roof leak points and improperly installed uninsulated can lights which were a fire hazard. On the outside, he pointed out faint water marks on the walls from bad drainage where water backed up during rainstorms, and most impressive (to me) he led me to the rear corner of the house and told me to put my ear up against the wall. I immediately heard a drip-drip-drip sound. Turns out the AC condensation drain pipe had come apart INSIDE the wall. Bill then showed me evidence of black mold (from the leak) on the inside wall--which was wallpapered over to hide it. Bill was able to ball-park the cost of these and several other problem areas which needed repairs, and I immediately lowered my offer by $70.000. We didn't get the house, but we did avoid buying a dressed up lemon. I had Bill inspect a total of 5 prospective homes for us over a year period, and finally bought one that we love and that had no surprises for us. A little story on home inspection number 3 is in order. We were back in Michigan at the time of the inspection. Bill arrived and within 10 minutes saw that the house had black mold throughout, which had been covered with a fresh paint job. He picked up the phone and said "You don't want this one." and stopped the inspection. He also refused to bill me for the inspection. You do not often find this level of integrity any more.
