  • This place is old school and a hidden gem. I am not even close to being Portugese and I usually visit twice a week for bread and to see what the latest baked goods are. I don't drink coffee but the espresso is popular, especially with the older gentlemen that hang out together, chatting and laughing at the back of the shop. The owner makes a variety of items throughout the week. I don't know if there's any kind of schedule to what she bakes (other than the specialty items for holidays) but I enjoy going in to see what's on offer for the day. I bought an excellent, not too sweet apple pie for $5.49 and on another occasion, a delicious pound cake that was both airy and dense. It was still warm by the time I got it home. I agree that they might have the best Nata I've ever tried. Flaky, crispy crust, not chewy.
