  • The salon I've been going to for the past 15 years shut it doors abruptly with no notice so I was left to search for a new stylist. Now any woman knows that this is a daunting and somewhat terrifying task. Particularly when you have super dark "ethnic" hair. So, I've tried a few places in the Tukee...all disasters. I was at the point where I needed to accept that I would need to drive to North Scottsdale and pay a fortune and suffer through a snobby environment to get my hair done. Thankfully, I decided to give Saskia a try. My first visit I was greeted warmly, offered a drink, and a free gift for being a first time customer. Nothing pretentious about this salon. It's beautiful. I didn't have to wait long when my stylist Michelle came up to get me. I told her about all my hair woes and she listened. I was just there for a hair cut and style because if she couldn't do a decent blow out, I was never coming back (that is the test for me - if the stylist and blow out my hair I'm good. If they pull out a flat iron, I know they have no skills and I won't come back). Long story short, she fixed the hack job of a haircut I got at the other Tukee salon and my blow out was beautiful! Probably the first time I felt good about my hair in over a year. So I happily booked a balayage color next time with Michelle. 2nd visit for my color. Same great customer service throughout my visit. I was offered and drink and reading material and I felt like they really cared that I was comfortable and having a good experience. Now salons throw around the term balayage but most of the time you end up with regular highlights. Not so with Michelle. My balayage is beautiful. Subtle and will require low maintenance and my hair isn't orange. I'm really happy with the result. She knows what she's doing. Also, they are not pushy with selling product like most other places. She tells me what she used in my hair but I never have felt that awkward pressure to buy stuff. After these 2 experiences, this salon has earned my business and I will definitely be coming back and recommending Michelle.
