| - This place was packed on Saturday night, so I was really expecting to have my socks knocked off, especially considering the reviews on here. The place is small, so expect a wait if you go during peak times. The food was ok, but not spectacular. Waitstaff was nice and friendly. I had the fried flounder special over fried green tomatoes with a bleu cheese slaw. The fish was ok, but under seasoned, and the fried batter just fell right off and was a bit soggy and not as crispy as I would expect. The fried green tomatoes were the best thing on my plate, they were very good. The slaw was alright, but not very strongly seasoned or flavorful. We had some gumbo, which was ok, but again underseasoned, and had lots of rice and not much meat or veggies. Someone else ordered the blackened trout, which was ok, but still, underseasoned. Blackened should be very spicy, but it wasn't at all. The mac and cheese was ok, but with that runny cheese sauce like out of a box, not stringy like there was actual melted cheese in it. Collards were ok, nothing to brag about. The best thing we had was the Jambalaya, which was still skimpy on meat and mostly just rice. It was seasoned very well though and had a little bit of heat. Overall it was an OK meal, but I've had a lot better. When I end up dousing everything in hot sauce its clearly not a great meal.
