  • Cool. Just saw that PB was nominated for a James Beard Award. Checked into the Hotel and asked about the place. Concierge told me that Jerry Seinfeld had chartered a plane to bring his group there from LA for Pizza. Walked from the Biltmore against advice from the Desk that said it was too far--about a 30 min walk. Naturally, with all this buzz, the pizza is fantastic. Where on earth is the best pizza is a slipery slope and i am not getting on it. The whole thing is, however, very cool. They have a person in the window smashing tomatos into sauce. I was involved in an urban gardening project in downtown Phoenix and they were growing ancient heritage Sonoran wheat ( the oldest grain in the hemisphere) to be used at PB. Well worth it to go. BTW, i was there about 2pm on a Monday and the place was empty.
