  • Damn I love this place. MRT is one of my favorite places on Montford. After being here a handful of times, a review is a must. I always start with the queso because, well, its queso. Then my go to is always 2 tacos with a side. Do yourself a favor and go with the barbacoa short rib taco. The meat is flavorful and the drizzle of jalapeno crema sets it right. The crispy pork belly is another go to of mine. Pretty simple taco that lets the pork belly speak for itself. While at first I was thinking the taco needed a little something, I wouldn't want to dull down the flavors it has now - good job MRT for keeping it simple and sweet. As for sides, I have to admit I've never ventured away from my two favorites - the mexican street corn and the sweet potato waffle fries. Now, I guarantee their other sides are something to talk about, but why mess with a good thing. I mean, come on, mexican street corn is roasted corn topped with queso. WITH QUESO! Other than that, the atmosphere is laid back and during warm nights the staff will pop up the garage door for fresh air. As we all know, parking can be tricky but that's what you get on Montford. Tasty margaritas as well and a decent bar menu that pretty much is the same beers anywhere you head on Montford. But seeing how I usually head here for dinner then hop to Angry Ale's for drinks, the beer list doesn't bother me. All in all, a solid place and definitely somewhere I'll be back to.
