| - Ordered a gin and ginger. Bartender forgot to add the ginger syrup. Entire table sampled my drink, no one could detect a hint of ginger. When I went back up and asked for it, both bartenders made jokes about "the guy complaining because he wants ginger ale." As a matter of fact, I did want ginger ale. When I ordered my drink the waitress said "ale" or "beer." If I'd known that "ale" meant "we'll put club soda in, forget the ginger syrup we use, and then mock you for asking us to make the drink correctly" I would have just skipped out on The Great Dane entirely.
Manager came after 20 minutes, behaved in an incredibly rude and dismissive manner after hearing the events. I told him that all I wanted was for his bartender to make my drink correctly the first time or, barring that, to not be an ass after getting a request. I told him it was unacceptable, and swore because at this point I was frustrated by the awful service. He screamed "WE'RE DONE!!!!" Snatched the drink (my first of the evening which I'd barely sipped), and ran off. No one in my party of 4 will be visiting this establishment again. There are plenty of better bars in Madison, like Gibs on Willy St, that know how to make a drink and provide reasonable customer service.
