  • Very, very, very...disappointing. Let me start by saying it was with an enthusiastic anticipation that I watched Odysea being constructed as I passed by on the freeway for over a year. The idea of a massive underwater world being built in the desert seems appealing. From the outside, one gets the false impression of a grand design. Unfortunately, from the inside, the results are shockingly claustrophobic and a huge let down. The Odysea is a very overpriced, poorly designed money grab-tourist trap. Here's a valuable tip on how to best view the Odysea aquarium: 1) Drive by it (it looks impressive from the outside) and do not exit! 2) Continue driving to Kingman 3) Stop in Kingman and get an In N' Out Burger 4) Continue past Hoover Dam 5) Exit Las Vegas 6) Go to The Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay and see what an incredible aquarium actually looks like. The Odysea was designed with narrow corridors and surprisingly small tanks containing small fish, small sharks, small jellyfish and small penquins, behind small windows blocked by tons of people because the viewing areas are so inadequate...all of which exits into a huge gift shop. There are more restaurants and gift shops then there is aquarium. While inside, I commented that you'd likely be more comfortable standing in front of a fish tank at the local pet store and your kids would have a better view...and a husband and wife who had four children in tow, overheard me and said that they completely agreed. Pricing: Odysea Adult $34.95 Child $24.95 Arizona residents NO Discount Shark Reef Adult $25 Child $19 Nevada Residents Adult $22 Child $17 Children under 3 yrs old $Free The only possible way anyone could give this place a positive review would be because they had never experienced a great aquarium. I wasn't kidding when I recommended Shark Reef in Las Vegas as a far superior experience on every level. Really a shame.
