  • I had breakfast there on a routine Tuesday morning while in the area. I wont be going back. The menu looked good and the place is clean and minimally decorated, but pleasant. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and it came with potatoes. My food came out in a timely manner but what a disappointment. First, it didn't look appetizing at all. The Hollandaise sauce was ill-colored and lacked taste. I compared it to something that may have come from a can or bottle. The poached eggs were fine but they aren't the star of this show - the drab Hollandaise killed the dish as i struggled, to no avail, to find something redeeming about the plate in front of me. The bread served was English Muffin like - but was stale and wasn't browned enough to provide that contrast "crunch" in texture you like in a good Eggs Benedict. The ham was good and seemed to be the most edible component to me. And the kicker was this, on the bread beneath my bland sauce and poached egg was an unmelted slice of American cheese. I swear to you it looked and tasted exactly like a Kraft single peeled away from its gawd-awful plastic wrapping only moments before and they didn't even bother to melt the processed square of yuck to help disguise it? The potatoes accompanying my dish were pleasant looking but again lacked good taste and were underdone. Because I really wanted to find something i liked about the place and to quickly supplant the memory (and taste) of my breakfast, I ordered an Apple Danish. After a few minutes in the microwave, i was presented with a very hot, and largely mediocre Danish. The pastry parts were dry and dense and lacked life and taste. It was reminiscent of the prepackaged Danish i might find at Costco. The filling was Apple and sugar so it met the criteria to be called "filling", but nothing more. The glaze was paltry and would have made the pastry/bread part more edible but it was barely noticeable. Again with the corner cutting. The service was good and attentive, but it's not her fault my food was so lacking. It just feels like my whole meal was totally cheaped out. Very cheap, poor ingredients and a kitchen that didn't care about how my food tasted and that equals a dissatisfied eater who won't be coming back. You wanna buy and deliver substandard food? Fine. But then don't charge me 20.00 for breakfast and pretend I won't notice. Charge what Denny's or Waffle House might charge, cause that is the impression your food made on me.
