| - Brunch started off well. The restaurant was incredibly cute with the feeling of walking into a cozy cottage decorated with flowers. Seemed like a great place for a bridal shower or girl's brunch. However, things quickly went downhill from there.
This establishment is operated by the same owners as The Mission which we went to the night before and all thought it was fantastic. Therefore, I'd like to assume that our experience was a one-off disappointment, however, I don't think any of us will be back to Phoenix for a while (all east-coasters) to actually prove that.
The restaurant was 90% empty when we arrived for our 1PM reservation. However, it still took them 15 minutes to bring us water and ask for our orders. We had to wait an additional 10 minutes for our drinks to appear. We had mentioned to them that we had a time constraint so please rush our food and drinks, however, it didn't seem that was taken into consideration. I would understand if the restaurant was crowded but it was majorly empty. When the food finally did come out, they forgot my meal and had to go back and search for it.
We were given a full menu to look over and were not told that only the brunch menu (on the last page) would be served. There is NOTHING worse than getting a menu, picking something you think sounds delicious, having your mind set on it, and then being told it is not available. If they are only intending on serving their brunch menu, generally restaurants only hand out their brunch menu during brunch. At the VERY least, we could have been told to disregard the 5 other pages of menu options prior to being seated.
The food was average and the pricing was also average for the area (but not for the service). We would have probably been a better eating experience if the service was at a higher level. We were all looking forward to a great Scottsdale brunch experience and left feeling very disappointed and, quite frankly, annoyed.
