I bought my very first truck at Carmax on July 29, 2014. It was also the very first car I had bought off a car lot. Normally I have been lucky enough when I bought through the autotrader. I had just had my 2002 Isuzu Rodeo sport 2 dr sub signed over into my name a month earlier when I moved out to Nevada(it was inherited) my wife and I went to a traditional dealership and was only offered $1000. We spent 7 1/2 hours there to get to payment information and they wanted $750 a month. We had ok credit 690 for both of us. That was almost our rent on our apartment so we left. I said hey since my cousin is a buyer at the Fresno, CA location lets go to Carmax. We met with George Baker. He was a very nice gentleman and was very informative. We were looking to get my wife a car at the time. We looked at a Mazda CX-9 and she liked it but didn't want a car. I looked at a 2006 Chevy Silverado Hybrid. Those trucks are super rare as GM bought back 95% of the generation 1 hybrid trucks. It was a great deal at $15599 with 61,279 miles on a 2006. We signed the dotted line just as they were closing. I loved my truck. Unfortunately it was totaled in an accident on May 15,2015 short of my one year anniversary of buying it. George kept in contact with me after the buying process and became a friend when I got a job their as a sales consultant. Carmax is a great company to buy from. As a customer first and an employee second I wouldn't buy any used car unless it was from Carmax. I looked at several other dealerships and their used trucks and cars were not up to par with Carmax. I no longer work for Carmax, but I do use the app everyday and I am still looking to replace my truck over a year later. I will be back to purchase my next vehicle from Carmax and I still recommend Carmax to my family and friends.
