This is just down the street from me and I often walk here from Greenwood station in order to pick up a few items.
Butcher:
They have some tasty meat back there! I find the chicken to be a good deal. No fish if you are looking for that.
Cheese:
OK selection but a bit pricey. I almost never buy cheese from Jerry's.
Produce:
Not bad--odd how almost everything is already prepackaged. Even the peppers. I think they generally have anything I've looked for. Prices might be a tad bit higher but I can't recall a problem with quality ever.
Dairy:
They have a lot of "nice" diary--organic and such. This might be one of the only places I know of where you can get whole fat chocolate milk for the lactose tolerant among us.
Juice:
A bit pricey but again, they have good juices.
Snacks:
Same story--better quality, but pricey, chips.
Canned goods, cereals, pasta:
Prices seem more on par with a large supermarket on some of this stuff.
Frozen things:
Can't say. Freezers are for leftover chill, soup and cocktail glasses.
Stuff I really like:
Prego pasta sauce in mushroom flavour--for those particularly lazy dinners! (the only pasta sauce I know of that DOES NOT have onions in it. If Cambells ever stops making this, I might starve to death. It got me through college)
Mixed olives--little plastic trays for about $2.50. Yum!
Stuff to watch out for:
I bought some TP or other common household item that was double the "normal" (NoFrills) price. Be careful--check the prices on some of this stuff.
Support your local shops! All in all, a great store for those of us close to Monarch Park Ave. Shopping here is generally a pleasant experience but just remember that no small store can ever compete with the big guys when it comes to price or selection.
