| - We've been to Vegas maybe 25 times, and for the first time we decided to stay at a non-casino, and selected this property. It's adjacent to Hooters hotel/casino and a very short walk to the Tropicana, Luxor, Mandalay, and MGM. There is a Coco's eatery, AM/PM gas station, and Motel 6 also nearby, and it was about a 10-15 minute drive from the airport. It's a 3 story property made of up 4 buildings, and each building has its own parking lot and laundry facility ($1.25 wash/75 cent dry). The pool area is shared by all 4 buildings and was always packed each time we walked by. They also offer a free breakfast, but for most people it's barely more than a snack. The selection is limited to eggs, sausage, bread, cereal, and bananas/apples and yogurt, plus juice. They offer the breakfast from 6-9am in the lobby and it's a pretty small area to have so many people. We noticed a ton of kids and teens at the property, and a few convention types; not a great place for singles, honeymooners, or seniors. On the plus side, this is like having your own apartment; each apartment comes with a fully stocked kitchen, with stove, microwave, blender, coffee pot, hand mixer, utensils, etc, and cookware. You can literally bake a cake here or any other fancy meal, which we did to save money. The downside is that you'd need a car to make use of the kitchen and go buy groceries - there isn't a grocery store nearby. The rooms and bathrooms (with tub) are very spacious and there is ample closet space and lighting. Each unit has two or more televisions, and also a sleeper sofa in the 1-bedroom unit. The noise level was fair - at night we could hear some walking/heavy footsteps but nothing too bad. You can definitely hear kids running through the halls and suitcases being dragged around because the corridors are tile and carpet. The corridors are also open-air so during the summer I imagine it'd get very hot walking to/from your room. The workout room had 4 treadmills, a bike, an elliptical, weight machines, and some towels/water. I was there early morning and there were always 2 or 3 people with me. The only thing this hotel lacked was a solid Internet connection. It's a wireless connection on your room or the lobby, but it was always down because of too much user traffic. We could usually only get on very early or at night when people were out to dinner. Overall, it was a good choice for a non-casino vacation and we'd recommend it. For a first time visitor though.. stay in a casino for the best Vegas experience(s).
