| - Not sure if they were off their game, but we went for dinner on my birthday and it was underwhelming. I've lived nearby for 10 yrs, my wife has been there, but now I know why we don't go there regularly.
First, we were seated pretty quickly, ordered Starters, and our entrees. Starters came out reasonably fast and nice and hot (Escargot). Then 15 min after we were served our starters, a 5-top was seated next to us. They got their salads rather quickly, and we still didn't get ours. After being there for about 55 Min, I asked the busboy (The server hadn't been around for a while) about our salads, and he got them right away. Must have been sitting...waiting... After another long wait, our entrees came out. Scallops and Shrimp were cold inside. Were they now rushed because they were late? (It was about 1:15 at this point). We also both ordered the same dish, and one had noticeably larger scallops than the other.
Stuff happens, But the first excuse was that they were busy with a 65 person party, OK, I get that, they're busy for a sunday, but then I asked why the 5-top who was seated about 20 min after us had their entrees already and we just got our salads, we were told, "well escargot does take a long time." I guess OUR escargot took longer than the one at that table. I don't like being lied to. Just tell the truth. Now I won't be back. Lots of great places to eat in Old Town.
There were a lot of "regulars" and tourists that the servers spent a lot of time chatting with. I certainly won't be either at this place. A shame, as it's just around the corner.
