| - After going to both Sports and Fitness and Golds, Core Fitness is by far the nicest club in the area.
Pros: its never jam packed and always clean (there was a stretch of at most 3 days when they ran out of wipes, in which they put out Lysol. People need to chill out).
The people that workout here are by far the most "serious athletes" I've seen in the area, and I have yet to be interrupted by any other members or trainers (which happened immediately at the other gyms). The other members are also the most respectful gym-goers of the area and understand that most people aren't there to pick up a date (go to Sports and Fitness for that!!) and are overall nice, complimentry and supportive of everyone (its kind of like the Cheers of gyms). I've also never had to wait for tanning, and the staff is NICE! Yes, they're nice! It's crazy! Dillon and Gabby are the best.
Cons: small building, only one stair stepper machine (which is almost always in use), tons of random ellipticals that are never used. Would be nice if these were changed out with something people like (more stairsteppers..!), tanning is only accessable during staffed hours (3pm-7pm I think).
Everything about this gym is small, the locker rooms, the stretching area, and the equipment is jammed together. But they do have everything equipment-wise, as well as kettle bells and medicine balls (more variety than S&F, about on par with Golds). And I cannot put enough stars out there for not being gawked at and interrupted during my workout. Seriously, respectful gym goers. It's great.
The staff is by far the nicest I've encountered in most of Cornelius honestly, especially compared to the other incredibly angry gym staff in the area (and any other horrible customer service you commonly find around the lake).
Overall, due to its pleasant employees, respectful members, nice tanning bed, decent membership price ($25/mo), higher quality equipment than the other gyms, its compact size does not bother me a bit. Unless I want to use the stairstepper...
