So disappointed!!! I have been to Aveda salons many times before and always leave happy - this was not the case with this particular salon. I have naturally dark hair, but have been going for a lighter look lately. I had previously gotten a blonde color put in my hair (by a different salon), but after two months it had become brassy at the ends from washing the color.
I came to this salon to have the color corrected and lightened back up a bit. I was very specific with the stylist, telling her that I wanted an ash blonde color, rather than the brassy tone I had in the ends of my hair. She seemed to comprehend this and was very nice and personable the whole appointment. By the end of the appointment it looked as if she had brought the brassy color up to my roots and threw some blonder highlights over it.
I returned not even a week later for them to fix it. I asked if it was too soon to do more color because I didn't want my hair damaged from it - they assured me they would never do anything to damage my hair. She added way more bleached highlights to my hair, and the base color still looks the same brassy tint. Not to mention, the left side of my hair has wayyyy more of the bleached blonde highlights. So depending on which side you are looking at me from, I have different colored hair - like cruella deville. And to top it off, my hair feels like straw.. so much for not damaging it.
Another thing I was not happy with was the somehow challenging task of washing the chemicals out of my hair. She managed to leave my entire shirt soaking wet. This is not an exaggeration - the water flowed down my neck, and all over my torso.. I was wearing a white shirt :/
Sorry so long, but there were so many unsettling aspects to my experience with this salon.
