| - Horrible!!!!! I don't even know where to begin. I ordered a cake from Maddy's Fatty's for my husband's 40th surprise birthday party. I showed them a picture and emailed them a copy as well (from Pinterest ) of how I wanted the cake to look. We agreed on a time that I would pick the cake up on the day of the event. First offense..... IT WASNT READY!!!! Second offense...when it was complete it looked AWFUL! My 10 year old could have done better!!! It was frosted in buttercream but I asked for portions of the decorations to be done in fondant. My issue was with the fondant
( At that time anyway.) Hold on, because it gets worse!
I explained that it was unacceptable. I was told they couldn't do a thing to fix the fondant. Mind you, it looked as though there were only teenagers working in there. So, I had to suggest to THEM to ditch the fondant and replace it using buttercream. OMG! If you could only see the corrected version!! IT looked like my 4 year old did it!!! I was beside myself as the party was starting in 2 hours! There was absolutely NO WAY this cake was servable to a group of 50 adults! A 95$ cake at that from an "up-scale" bakery. Yeah, I very quickly realized, up-scale my.........
The girl behind the counter would not give me my money back as the owner was out of town. She did offer me 4 dozen cupcakes at no charge. At that point, it was the best I could do. UNTIL....... They called the owner and the owner said no free cupcakes, no refund, no nothing!!!!! I then had the pleasure of speaking to the owner, ENZA, over the phone. THE most RUDE, MISERABLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, CONDESCEDING business owner I can honestly say I've ever come in contact with! WOW!
She didn't let me speak, she continuously talked over me, interrupted me and repeated that I had "a perfect cake ready per my specifications" If she didn't tell me that once, she told me 10 times! HA! Clearly, she hadn't seen the pictures of my cake! I'd be happy to share them with anyone that asks! Should you need a good laugh!
Since she wouldn't give me cupcakes or refund my money, she fixed the fondant problem ONE LAST TIME! Third time's a charm right? WRONG! Still looked bad, but I took it, with a very generous 20$ discount (insert sarcasm) for the fondant.
Third offense..... The cake sucked!! It was flavorless, the buttercream was greasy. and it fell apart/crumbled when I cut it! EPIC FAIL.....
This bakery has a lot to learn. They need to learn that the consumer provides their paycheck! That customer service is #1 and that they are in a highly competitive business and so far, according to reviews they are losing the battle. That a little kindness and compassion get you far and maybe, just maybe might not have gotten them such a scathing review from this customer.
