| - Great deal away from the strip. If you are familiar with the Vegas scene or just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the strip or downtown, I recommend staying or playing at The Orleans.
Check in at the front desk was painless. Line was about 6 parties deep but moved quickly. There is a $20 resort fee and $100 deposit/hold is placed on your card. The rooms are inexpensive in comparison to many of the strip hotels. The rooms are decent. Much nicer than a motel but not fancy/trendy like some of the rooms at Caesars palace. Bed is comfortable, flat screen TV, safe. No fridge and bathroom is low key. See if you could get a high floor with a strip view. We were offered an upgrade to a suite for an additional $150/nt but decided to stay with our original plans. One room for my wife and I and the other for grandma with the kiddos.
Pool area is great for the kiddos. Large pool is heated. There are plenty of chairs and towels available. They do check bags for stuff/outside food and alcohol but noticed people bringing their own stuff. There is a pool bar but no drink service, which I thought would be nice. You can use sportsbook tickets at the pool bar for domestic beers and well drinks. Day beds are $50 on weekends. We got a day bed the first day and it comes with an umbrella. The cabanas are $175 On weekends. The cabanas are very nice. Plenty of space for 10-15 people to hang. There were 5 of us and we were very comfortable. Like I mentioned before was there is no drink service. I wish they had it for cabanas. You can order drinks through room service. Seemed lame. Pay for the day bed and gazebo in the hotel spa.
Gaming is great here. They have a wide variety of slots on a huge floor. The table games are perfect with low minimum bets of $5. The people working the tables are always nice. The sportsbook is one of my favorites. Lots of lighting and very nice people working the counters. The drink service is impeccable when compared to other casinos.
Movie theater, bowling alley, food court, and plenty of eating options. I recommend Bailiwicks, Alder and Birch, and the Copper Whisk cafe. If you have small children, there is Kids Tyme daycare. You can use it up to 5 hours/day. My kids love going there. Gives the adults some time to play, hangout, or enjoy one of the restaurants.
Not far from the strip. You can always take a rideshare service, about $10 each way. Remember to join their player's club, B Connected. Have fun and gamble/play responsibly.
