  • Monty's is one of those places that is WAY over hyped and I think that doesn't help it. I've been here ONCE. One time. Ever. And I've never gone back. I lived 2 blocks away for three years and I now live on the end of Willy (still relatively close) and still have not gone back. It's been around 4 years since my first visit. The food was by no means terrible. The service was fine. I was WAY put off by having to eat outside when it was 1,000 degrees out. It's ALWAYS busy. Always. They don't have enough places to sit and I would imagine not nearly enough places to park. The food was mediocre, at best. The service left PLENTY to be desired. We waited FOREVER to be sat, then waited forever to order, then waited forever to get our food. Then our food wasn't even good and the bill was way too high for the meh experience we had. I would really like to try it again. On paper, it's everything I love. Greasy spoon. Local. Close to my house. Vegetarian friendly. But the experience I had there was enough to keep me from ever going back, sadly. Maybe I'll work up the courage to give it another chance at some point.
