  • We had a work outing here this past Monday as a reward for some of our agents and I have to say for $36 plus fees and taxes for each ticket, I was hugely disappointed. The signs placed by the tanks should accurately reflect what fish / creatures are in that tank. More often that not, the creatures and fish in the tank had no sign to explain what they were. There were also signs for creatures and fish that weren't in that tank. We asked an employee why and she said they move them around but don't always have time to move the signs. When asked about why a tank was empty, we were told "they all died". Aren't you supposed to be professionals and be able to keep your inhabitants healthy? How much time does it take to move, remove or add signs? The touch tank did not have much in it and nothing was very colorful. Every touch tank I've seen has starfish and this one did not - another disappointment. The lighting in the tanks did not adequately show off the beautiful colors of the salt water fish which is unfortunate. There was a blue tang (Dory) swimming frantically around and around in the large tank that you can walk under and it was in terrible shape. It's top and bottom fins were all chewed up -- something was definitely picking on it and it's color was starting to fade -- this fish will die very soon if it hasn't already if it is not quarantined and allowed to rest in a stress free environment and grow it's fins back. The health of the creatures in your care should be paramount! To walk through the entire aquarium and really spend the time takes at least 2 hours but you can't have anything to drink unless you sit in their cafe -- well I drink water all the time -- why can't I have a water bottle? There are people on certain medications like my mother who suffer from dry mouth if they can't be drinking water every few minutes. And why in an aquarium do we have a single sloth, a few birds, and hissing cockroaches? The sloth was adorable and the birds were pretty but this isn't a zoo. It's an aquarium. Focus on the fish and sea creatures. Also why do I have to go into a rotating theater to see all it has to offer? Why can't I see the sea lions without having to go through all of that? I had wanted to bring my family here but we will pass. I was expecting so much more for the price. In fact one of the gals that was supposed to go with on the outing didn't go because she had gone previously and was not impressed. Someone turning down a free afternoon off from work because they don't want to go back to your aquarium is pretty bad. YOU HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO!
