  • Everything was smooth and I especially enjoyed using the Skip the Counter feature after loading my credit card info and printing the bar code receipt. I have always done this with another rental agent which I have frequented for business. My only issue with Alamo (and this is a big one) is that my rental reservation AND my Skip the Line paperwork were for an intermediate car at a certain rate, but when I returned my car, I was charged $100 more. When I questioned the woman who was checking me in at the return, she told me that she was charging me the correct rate per my reservation. I was holding paperwork which said something different. I decided not to miss my flight by debating with her and, rather, call customer service, which I did later that afternoon. Customer service confirmed what she'd told me, but after I insisted and read my paperwork to them, they agreed to credit me. When I asked why I had been erroneously changed the extra $100, they said I picked a car which was larger than it should have been. Huh? I picked the smallest car in the standard aisle (my teen daughter liked the tiny Hyundai Velostar better than the Camry offered). I'd been directed to that aisle by two Alamo agents standing in the lot after they'd read my paperwork. So I did exactly as told. What bothers me is that although Alamo has agreed to refund me the difference, they still don't see their error. And now it could take up to two bill cycles on my card for me to be refunded. For the hassle, it probably isn't a rental I'd repeat.
