| - BEWARE!! PLEASE READ!!
I don't normally write reviews, but this is one that I had too. It's long winded, but it's important information!!
My boyfriend and I moved from CA to CO for his new job. Since we relocated because of his job, it was a company paid move. My boyfriend took a lot of time getting quotes from many different moving companies. After speaking with Joey on the phone, we decided to go with Oasis movers.
Now, at first Joey was extremely helpful. He was very customer focused, he assured us that all of our belongings would be taken care of. He also guaranteed us that he would be able to deliver our items within 10 days. He told us that he would be handling our move personally, from start to finish and to let him know if we ever had any issues. On top of everything, he beat all his competitor's prices. HOW AWESOME! WE WERE SOLD! Because of how great Joey seemed, we didn't feel the need to check reviews, BIG MISTAKE!!
When we spoke with Joey, we worked out what items they would need to pack and Joey included any packing materials they were to supply for us in our quote. We were meticulous in explaining how many items/boxes we had to move. As well as the amount of stairs/floors at both our current and new apartment. Due to the fact that it was being paid for by my boyfriend's company if the quote we sent in wasn't precise, any additional costs would be our responsibility.
Everything changed the day of the move. We scheduled for 8am. The movers didn't show up until 9, ok no big deal, we both took the whole day off. It was a team of three guys. We were on the third floor. The first thing the foreman said was that we would need to pay extra for the stairs, then we are told that we needed to supply the packing materials for them to package some picture frames and mirrors. These were both things that we already included in the quote. We call Joey, Joey calls the foreman, the additional charges are then forgotten. The move continues and they package our large items.
The day before our items were scheduled to arrive, Joey calls us to tell us that they wont be able to deliver everything on time. After a drawn out conversation he tells us ok they will come, but later in the afternoon.
Around 1 we receive a call from the driver telling us that he will be the only one unloading our items. IMPOSSIBLE. 3 PEOPLE WERE BARELY ENOUGH WHEN WE WERE MOVING OUT. We explain to him that he will need help and he says he will see what he can do. The driver arrives around 3pm in a semi truck, that had other families items in it. There were also two other guys that arrived to help. The two guys helping were very nice, but were by no means professional movers. I really think they were hired off of craigslist, but I don't know for sure.
The driver at first was very nice, but got more irritable as the move went on. He complained about having to deliver our items because he had been driving too much. He complained that he was tired, that he had been away from home for a long time. I understand that driving is a rigorous job, but your customer doesn't need to hear that.
The driver also told us we would need to pay for the one flight of stairs in our new place, even though it was already in our quote.
As things were getting unloaded, we started to inspect the items. We found many items that were broken, scraped, and improperly packaged. When they packaged our large items they put tape directly onto wooden surfaces, so when we removed the tape it removed the finish on the wood. I'll include pictures of the items that were broken or damaged.
More than anything, this is what pushed me over the edge. When it came time to move our couch into our new place it was a PRODUCTION! They tried to take it down our stairs but, because the stairs curve they weren't able to. They also took out a chunck of our wall trying to push it down. The driver basically threw his hands up and told us they wouldn't be able to bring it in. We explained that we had a back door that would be easier to access, but it was a longer walk. He said that he would have to charge us for the extra steps it would take to do that, so if we didn't want to pay he couldn't do it. WHAT??! The two guys that didn't work for the company were nice enough to take it around through the back door for us, and the driver GOT MAD AT THEM!! I felt bad for these guys because they were so nice, and the driver was SO MEAN TO THEM!!
Here's the kicker...my boyfriend wrote a review for this company also. When Joey saw it, he called my boyfriend and YELLED AT HIM. After they talked Joey said he would compensate us for all the items that were broken/damaged. THEN JOEY GOT HIS REVIEW REMOVED FROM YELP. (I can't say why, because I don't want mine to be removed also) After the review was removed, we couldn't get in contact with Joey and never heard from him again, and never received any compensation for our damaged items.
OVERALL HORRIBLE!! SHADY COMPANY WITH SHADY PRACTICES!
