rev:text	We have eaten here a couple times before over the last 3-4 years and thought the food was good and the staff/owners were trying very hard. When there before we saw few other customers and the owners were pretty aggressive about encouraging is to get a discount for paying cash and coming back. At this visit (last week), there were more customers, nobody suggested a cash discount (i.e., they no longer appeared to be desperate for customers), but the food was disappointing. I had one of the day's specials, a giant shrimp soup. It looked good but it had a fishy taste to it and the first shrimp I dug into was pretty tough. I guess that would be expected with shrimp in a hot soup - impossible to just cook it lightly. One of the other of the 3 shrimp (I'm not complaining about the number - they were truly giant), had similar texture, was maybe a little less tough, and the third was totally mush. If that was from overcooking, it must have been simmering in the soup broth for days - not likely - and you'd think all three would be the same. Whatever the reason, yuck. I didn't eat that one and kind-of lost my appetite for the rest of the soup. The broth tasted good except for the kind-of fishy smell and there were tons of noodles although they turned to mush the next day in my leftover soup. Our curry was fine and the Tom Kha soup not bad, but had less flavor than we like. The restaurant has a rack of wine glasses on the back wall but don't serve wine. Hmmm. Bottom line is that there are a lot of Thai restaurants in this area and this one hasn't drawn us away from those we like better.
