| - Having been loyal AT&T customers since they took over our previous carrier, Centennial Wireless, we took my mom to the Boca Park AT&T store on Thursday, Oct. 8, to get some info on new service and get a new phone. There were two employees at the door checking people in. After about 15 minutes, one of them decided to come and help us. Nobody else was waiting in the store except us. We got some info from Trevor and then left so my mom could weigh her options. The next day, we went back to sign her up. When we walked in, there were two employees standing at the door with i-pads, checking people in. We were 3rd on the list and right after we got there, another person came in and was added to the wait list. We were told someone would help us shortly. There were a total of 5 employees (men wearing black shirts) just standing around with their i-pads. Additionally, there were two women wearing white shirts at computers. Not sure what they were doing, but they were not on the phone and they were not with customers. However, it looked like they were working. All 5 men, however, were doing nothing but talking to each other. They were not using the i-pads or assisting any of the 4 customers that were waiting. Why does it take 2 people to stand at the door and check people in? We waited approximately 10 minutes and, after nobody made an effort to assist us, we walked out and told them that it was ridiculous to have 5 employees standing around while 4 people were waiting for help. We were told that some employees were "in training". This would actually be believable if they were actually talking about work and not personal things, such as what time everyone got to work, etc. We left and went out of our way straight to the W. Lake Mead store where we were greeted and helped immediately. We spent quite a bit of time there signing my mom up for new service, transferring her phone info and getting her new phone. In the entire time we were there, we observed that everyone who walked in was helped immediately. The customer service at the Boca Park store is unacceptable and we will certainly not recommend anyone we know to go there for any reason. We will definitely refer everyone to the W. Lake Mead store, where they obviously know how important customer service is. All of the Boca Park store employees need to go and take the class again. Horrible, horrible service and a complete waste of our time. Apparently nobody wanted to work for their commissions on a new service contract.
