| - By far the BEST museum in Vegas for kids!
Okay let me start by saying I know there's 3 levels but it surely felt like 5 maybe 5.5! They have this monstrosity of a jungle gym in the middle called The Summit that combines all the floors together. Within it there are mid-levels hence giving the 5.5 feel. Now of course the kids will want to go through The Summit. But for the less adventurous there are stairs and elevators however the elevators take forever so embrace your inner Dora the Explorer and conquer The Summit.
Now with that said high maintenance mommas you have been forewarned: The Summit is not ideal for short skirts/dresses and 6" heels/platforms. There will be a lot of bending and squating, and clinging and crouching... & for me, moaning and groaning lol. Not unless you're a stiletto veteran or a great cover-the-crotch pro then feel free not to sacrifice your fashion sense. Truth be told, I was wearing sandals and it was a bit challenging maneuvering through some of the ropes. So in a nutshell: dress accordingly.
Speaking of dress, be sure to bring spare clothes for your kiddies if you decide to go through WATER WORLD, which is on the 1st floor. Here is where you embrace your water smarts and marvel in the glory of water science. You WILL get wet. Maybe a driplet, maybe a splash, maybe even drenched.....there's no escaping the water. You WILL get wet. Yes there are ponchos the kids can use but they're so soaked it defeats the purpose of using them. This area was Little Man's favorite spot that I had to remove his shirt and turbo dry it in the bathroom afterwards. His shorts were pretty damp too. So I would suggest this place for last.
the FIRST FLOOR also has a fantasy area with a PIRATE SHIP, CASTLE, and stage complete with a drawback curtain. The pirate ship was Little Man's 2nd fave as there are cannons and a well to lower "food" down into the ship from the deck. The castle has a creepy marionette and a finger and shadow puppet area inside. An additional area is the toddler area however we didn't bother there as My Boy is older.
The SECOND FLOOR has ECO CITY where they can earn paychecks being a car mechanic (Toyota), grocer (Smiths), bank teller(Wells Fargo), homemaker (Jamba Juice) [note: I say home maker as by no means did this remind me of a Jamba Juice and moreso my kitchen], construction worker/freeman/engineer, air traffic controller, and a veterinarian. There's also the HEALTHY EATS section to teach about nutrition and the temporary exhibit which currently is on our first President George Washington.
The THIRD FLOOR houses the art projects where there's multiple tables filled with arts and crafts. We did a bit of painting for a while and there's even a conveyor belt dryer for the masterpieces to dry through. This is next to the black light room which is a mini-trip to walk through. Be sure to smile! The additional area is a CSI type area where you solve crimes.
Wrapping up, there's ample workers manning each section. Nearly each section has props and costumes for the children to wear and use. Make sure you bring hand sanitizer, and a nose plug ---haha just kidding but man it can get kinda funky in some of the areas. That being one way-minor negative and the other would be the crowds. It is extremely busy. Not Disneyland busy but pretty darn busy.
Overall, this place is absolutely PHENOMENAL that it makes me wanna pop out another whipper snapper or become Mary Poppins so I can Regular this place. I'm more than positive that we could have closed this place down. Getting a membership is highly recommended.
