Two words - disco ball.
Before heading out to Vegas, I solicited the opinions of several of my circus friends for the best show to see. Le Reve was hands down the winner. I've already seen 3 Cirque du Soleil shows and this one blew all of those out of the water (if you will). The moving stage, water, and fire worked together really well. The clowns were excellent. They were funny rather than scare a kid in a maze clown. Boy complained there weren't enough circus acts themselves, more dancing. As a dancer and a budding circus artist, I appreciated all parts of the show. There was a triples lyra / trap act that blew me away. The precision required even to execute a simple straight drop into the water makes Olympic platform divers look like lightweights. The goblin sidekick was hilarious. If anything, it was difficult to catch everything because there was so much to look at.
And they busted out a disco ball. If I were on the fence before, nothing will win me over faster than a disco ball.
Also, going to a modern cirque show for the plot is like reading Playboy for the articles. Just sayin'. I would absolutely recommend this show to anyone.
