| - I've wanted to try this little place for ages but I am usually at work when they are open. Finally today i made it in, and was very happy.
I grew up Polish, but everything from the friendly Russian cooks was just as I remember. I tried the potato and onion, and the potato and cheddar, both lightly fried. They were delicious! I wish I had brought a friend, because six was not quite filling enough, but twelve would have been too much ( I don't eat meat, but if you do, you could have sausage or something else to round out the meal). I highly recommend the cheddar and potato pierogi. I also recommend fried, although I know boiled is probably healthier.
They offer a nice assortment of frozen take-home pierogi and Russian grocery items like candy, canned goods, etc. They also have home-made baked goods, and I bought a package of Russian cookies that I remember my Polish mother making- very tasty and fresh. Caution- no matter how excited you are about the cookies, do not attempt to eat powdered sugar-covered treats in the car. You will make a mess. Wait until you get home, then enjoy your dessert.
