  • We went to a wedding at the Renaissance and had a great time. The ceremony was held in the courtyard underneath a beautiful tree and was set up so beautifully. During cocktail hour, the staff and bartenders did an excellent job serving drinks and hors d'oeuvre. Inside a ballroom was the reception for, and the food was pretty good for as far as hotel food. The service was prompt, and I had the salmon over risotto. The salmon was not over cooked and had a nice crunch to the exterior. The risotto and vegetables were also seasoned and cooked very nicely. The ballroom was setup very nicely, and was plenty spacious for about 150 people. As far as the hotel, it's a very nice and modern looking hotel. The lobby is beautiful with plenty of chairs and tables. There's a bar with plenty of TV's and the outdoor courtyard is gorgeous. We stayed in a one bedroom queen on the 7th floor, and the room was excellent. The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of space. My only complaint would be that the towels were not very soft, and it was a little confusing to connect to the wifi. I had to call the front desk to connect to wifi, and they waived the fee. Other than that, our experience here was very good, and this definitely a great hotel to stay at when visiting Charlotte. Also, South Park Mall is right across the street, which is very convenient if you need to do shopping.
