First off, my insurance is through Banner so my selection of providers is limited. I have a bias towards midwives because they tend to be more nurturing and take a women's preferences into account versus just telling us what to do. I know doctors are very educated and do this for years but my first answer isn't using medical intervention unless absolutely necessary.
I have a baby due in July and this place has a midwife. As a note, they do rotate which providers you meet (if you prefer) just because there's different providers who are on call when you go into labor - this gives an opportunity to work with whoever may be on call versus meeting a total stranger.
I'm not sure why people complain about the wait times. I've never had to wait and am seen in the office within minutes.
Both the midwife and provider I've met are super friendly and attentive. Their ultrasound tech is very friendly and makes you feel like you're important and your little bean is cute, even though she does this all day long.
I chose this place specifically because there's a midwife... sadly there's only one and I want a midwife when I go into labor and she may not be on call. The midwife assured that the practice is actively recruiting more midwives and plans to have at least 3 more in the practice by May, so my fingers are crossed. It's so comforting to have a provider who is there, with a more natural approach, yet in the safety of a hospital where there are doctors should they be needed.
