I was really looking forward to this place, but it ended up letting me down.
I came here to buy a couple of gift certificates for a family member as a Christmas present. I saw this place being consistently rated high on Yelp.
Since this was my first time here I figured I would try a cake myself, just to make sure. I initially asked for a turtle. They were out, so I had to settle for a strawberry.
The only good part of the cake for me was the homemade strawberry compote on top. The best way I can describe the cake was that it was over done. The cake wasn't smooth and creamy all the way through, the outer circle areas were slightly chalky. The bottom crust part was dry and crumbly. The cake didn't have a lot of distinguishing flavor to it, it just tasted like sweet cream cheese.
Since it was the day before Christmas, I was told there was a buy one get one free special going on. So I took a plain cheesecake home to my previously mentioned family member. They ended up not liking it either.
I'll come back to this place at least once to see if I caught a bad batch and to try a turtle cheescake.
